Bullonato (The Bolted Type) is a typeface in the Italian modernist style. What makes Bullonato unique is its source of inspiration: the famous artist’s book Depero Futurista by Fortunato Depero (1927), known to all as Libro Bullonato (The Bolted Book). The bolt, the emblematic symbol of Depero’s work, becomes the matrix of this new typeface from which its glyphs take shape. Mechanical and artisanal, Bullonato echoes the typography Depero elaborated in his most famous advertisements. Its set of letters, numbers, accents, ligatures, stylistic alternatives, doubles, etc. offers, to those who use it, the maximum futurist charge and freedom of expression.
