Micro-lanscapes
Copper oxidation with salt in an Ammonia fume chamber. High-resolution images of the results were taken and converted into a digital height map. Digital micro-landscapes are then derived from these heightmaps, with an exaggeration of their properties to highlight the beauty of the patina.

Exposure to high concentrations of ammonia in air causes immediate burning of the eyes, nose, throat, and respiratory tract and can result in blindness, lung damage, or death. A filtered respirator mask, hand and eye protection must be used to conduct the experiment in a well-ventilated area.
