Project Summary
This project requires developing a unique concept for a book of short stories that revolve around a single fictional character. The narrative must be conceptualised around the guiding prompt ‘the moment after which everything was different’. The aim of the project is to create a set of meaningful narrative experiences for the reader, reflected in the life of the character and the accompanying visual language. A compelling editorial concept, thematic strategy, defined genre, and engaging imagery are essential to produce a captivating product.

Design Strategy
For this project, I had the honour of interviewing someone who has truly lived an interesting and eventful life. The main concept for this book was to tell the story of Cobus Germishuys and all the big and small events that he experienced throughout his life and how these all contributed to him landing his job as Taste Room Master at Kanu Wines. The visual style and writing style all contribute to telling his story. The visuals depict various places and events that had an impact on him and helped him become the Wine Angel.

Life can be wonderfully strange sometimes. No matter how big or small an event or memory each of these provides an opportunity for growth and learning. Something small and seemingly unimportant can later provide a life-changing opportunity.

With this in mind, the visual style was developed to mimic how someone recalls a memory and event. One can "see" the entire picture but the details are slightly blurry and out of focus while details such as the colour of something can be recalled in vivid detail.
