"Hamīñ Ast?"
Hamīñ Ast? A Biography of Article 370
by Arghya Sengupta, Jinaly Dani, Kevin James and Pranay Modi

"Hamīñ Ast tells the untold story of how the state of Jammu and Kashmir became a part of India in 1947, achieved special status via Article 370 in 1950, shared a fractious relationship with New Delhi for the next seven decades, only to be reduced to a Union Territory in 2019"

The closed door represents the laboured relationship between J&K and the Central Government. The small hatch signifies the role Article 370 played in opening dialogue. The design of the door and red sandstone flooring references architecture from New Delhi's corridors of power.

Heads Held High
Heads Held High: Salvaging State Governors for 21st Century India
by Shankar Narayanan, Kevin James and Lalit Panda

"Governors routinely find themselves in the middle of political controversies and crises in India. In Heads Held High: Salvaging State Governors for 21st Century India, the authors reorient how we should think about the reform of this high office, presenting a full picture of its workings (and failures) from early colonial origins, to its incorporation into the Constitution, and on to the manner in which it has operated since 1950."
