2014 GRAPHIC DESIGN DEGREE SHOW POSTER

A poster design to promote the 2014 Southampton Solent University Degree Show, focusing the design on creative madness, relating to creatives being free thinkers and being open minded. Using madness as a basis of the design, I used inspiration from the Mad Hatter in Alice in Wonderland.
Through research, I discovered that the madness of the Mad Hatter was a condition of top hat makers in the 1800s, who's madness was caused by prolonged exposure poisonous metal element Mercury during the hat making process. Knowing that it would be impossible to make typography out of Mercury due to health and safety, I used Solder because when cool it looks similar to the properties of Mercury at room temperature.
