For this assignment we were asked to design a product using two emerging materials. Our group chose lighting design and utilized shape memory metals as well as Thermochormic pigments to create a light that when off seems sick. It droops and has a sickly green hue. When the light is turned on, the memory alloy heats up and transforms into its shape as the thermochormic pigments in the fabric change to an off white.
