Villao Clan Souvenir Shirt
My dad rings me up from the Philippines and says, "We're getting souvenir t-shirts done for the family reunion and we need a design." "When do you need it by?" I ask. "In a couple of hours."
The Villao clan—of which I'm part—is a close-knit family sharing a common Christian faith. The Villao patriarchs made sure their faith carries on to the next generation and one of the ways they ensured this is to hold regular family reunions that will always include a time of worship and prayer.
The idea was to have the letters V, I, L, L, A, and O combined into a single unit to represent unity of the Villao family in all its shapes and sizes. Line drawings of faces with interconnecting lines were then added to emphasise the concept of unity and diversity. The illustrations were inspired by family members I know.
