'Weightless' Exhibition

Project Concept:

Weightless Exhibition is an exciting and interactive exhibition located in The Australian Museum which showcases Disney objects of flight. It is categorised into three sections to take audiences on a journey of flight through creative storytelling. These include Innovation: dare to invent, Escapism: dare to explore, and Liberation: dare to let go.. The public can become a part of the exhibition with two interactive sections including a Mary Poppins umbrella photo opportunity and a Peter Pan sensory interactive fairy dust wall. The idea is that the exhibition creates emotions of wonder, excitement, and possibility, transporting people of all ages back into their childhood, where they believed anything is possible.

Section 1 of the exhibition - Escapism: dare to explore.

Showcasing Balloon House from UP, Flying Ship from Treasure Island and Magic Carpet from Aladdin.

Includes a graphic wall of colourful inspirational quotes from different Disney movies.

Section 3 of exhibition - Liberation: dare to let go

Showcasing Dumbo statue and Buzz Lightyear toy from Toy Story.

Includes graphic walls displaying quotes about flight from each object's movie.

Section 2 of the exhibition - Innovation: dare to invent

Showcasing - Ironman suit from Ironman, Plane 1 and 2 from Planes, Time Machine 1 and 2 from Meet the Robbinsons and Flying Umbrella from Marry Poppins.

Showcasing - projection video of Peter Pan flying

Includes an interactive sensory projection fairy dust wall where people can run around as fairy dust follows their movements. This is a space which encourages people to let loose and have fun as they feel like they are flying amongst the fairy dust.
