Brace: An Exploration into Affordable Housing

Brace: An exploration into the future of affordable housing.
A senior thesis that explores alternatives to the demolition of existing housing and instead focuses on the rehabilitation of dilapidated houses in low income neighborhoods. Brace is a hypothetical, non-profit, social program that aims to educate and uplift low income communities through the revitalisation of their neighborhoods. In North Linden alone, there are 187 vacant homes, while residents deal with poverty, food deserts and homelessness. Brace in-tends to empower low income residents by providing valuable trade skills that can be used to support the community both physically and financially.
