This was a project where I got to design the logo, three illustrations for their webssite, and one illustration for their first event.
The Logo
Sonido Colectivo is an organization that brings together musicians working on community music and post-conflict music education. Colombia is going through a post-conflict moment after more than 50 years of war. Sonido Colectivo wants to be an agent of peace through music. For the logo, the client wanted to include the representative dove as a symbol of peace, the flower as the organization seeks to be a community of knowledge and identify with cross-pollination, and the eighth note stem that represents music as the core of this project. The circle with the letters SONIDO COLECTIVO resembles a hug that represents a sense of reconciliation and community.

Este fue un proyecto en el que tuve que diseñar el logotipo, tres ilustraciones para su sitio web y una ilustración para su primer evento.
El logotipo
Sonido Colectivo es una organización que reúne a músicos que trabajan en el ámbito de la música comunitaria y la educación musical post-conflicto. Colombia atraviesa un momento de posconflicto tras más de 50 años de guerra. Sonido Colectivo quiere ser un agente de paz a través de la música. Para el logo, el cliente quiso incluir la paloma representativa como símbolo de paz, la flor ya que la organización busca ser una comunidad de conocimiento y se identifica con la polinización cruzada, y el tallo de corchea que representa la música como la base de este proyecto. El círculo con las letras SONIDO COLECTIVO se asemeja a un abrazo que representa un sentido de reconciliación y comunidad.

For the website, the client wanted three illustrations that represented traditional Colombian music, instruments that can be played in the community, and an ensemble that represented the community. They also wanted to keep the simple line stroke as a part of their identity. I used a traditional Colombian drum, a group of people playing traditional Colombian music from the pacific zone in Colombia, and a trumpet since this is a versatile instrument used in both, traditional and academic music, representing the joining of two worlds. I also added a bit of the Colombian flag colors (yellow, blue, red)

Para el sitio web, el cliente quería tres ilustraciones que representaran la música tradicional colombiana, los instrumentos que se pueden tocar en la comunidad y un conjunto que representara a la comunidad. También querían mantener el trazo sencillo como parte de su identidad. Utilicé un tambor tradicional colombiano, un grupo de personas tocando música tradicional colombiana de la zona del Pacífico en Colombia, y una trompeta, ya que es un instrumento versátil utilizado tanto en la música tradicional como en la académica, representando la unión de dos mundos. También añadí un poco de los colores de la bandera colombiana (amarillo, azul, rojo)

For this illustration, I used the same simple line stroke. One hand plants a bullet that converts into an eighth note as a symbol to transform the scars of conflict into music seeds.

Para esta ilustración, he utilizado el mismo trazo simple. Una mano planta una bala que se convierte en una corchea como símbolo para transformar las cicatrices del conflicto en semillas musicales.
