Down East Lobster Traders LTD
I usually start logo projects experimenting with typography if the name needs to be a big part of the design. This type of business required a slightly laid-back feel for the unique part of their name, but something strong, sturdy and sophisticated for the more common industry related wording. Once I had figured out what type to use and made a few tweaks to suit my needs, I began freehand drawing different seafood industry related objects to see how different shapes worked with the typography I had come up with. I picked the most effective ideas and sent them to the client for approval. Once I had feedback, I scanned the winner and digitized it in Illustrator incorporating the color scheme that was requested.
