Seven Creative Strategies
For this project we had to choose an “everyday, useful object". Then we had
to use it to create artistic examples of seven creative strategies: combination,
juxtaposition, isolation, metaphor or simile, change of context or environment,
physical shape similarity, and material change, swap or focus. My "everyday, useful object" was a pumpkin. This project was most successful at expanding my knowledge of Photoshop. I still have a lot to learn, but here is the process that took place for this assignment.
To start, we did a mind map, visual audits, gathered inspiration, and did sketches. For the mind map and sketches I used Samsung Notes and a stylus on my android phone.
Then came the hard part for me. I have barely touched Photoshop and wanted to expand my knowledge of it. From this assignment I learned how to use puppet warp and wrap textures onto objects, among other things. I sourced all but one of my images from free sites online like unsplash. I also used Shutterstock. They could use another round of refinement, but for the sake of the assignment, here are the final images!
