A domain is a network made up of computers as well as devices. It is controlled by one authority and has specific guidelines. A domain is owned by a single company with its web presence and address. The domain name is used to identify the domain, such as EduTechLink and edutechlink.com.
History of Domain
Before the Domain Name System in 1983, users could access different addresses on computer networks using a host’s numerical address. Using these numerical addresses, every computer could access files on the network.
This process was not scalable and made access to the internet difficult. The Domain Name System was therefore introduced on ARPANET. This project was the fundamental foundation of the internet.
