Album Covers
inspired by Graphic Design History

The purpose of this assignment was to choose a theme and to create album covers that were inspired by a figure or style in graphic design history. The first step was to choose a theme through a "Formstorming" Exercise, the theme I chose was circles. The next was being assigned three different styles from graphic design history, and begin work on the album covers!
Formstorming Exercise 64 Circles
This first cover is inspired by the De Stijl art movement. This movement consist of many geometric shapes and works that look like architect. I first thought I would struggle to incorporate circles but I figured it out in the end.
This next cover is inspired by the Swiss graphic designer Armin Hofmann. There was one particular poster of his that peaked my interest and I was able to find the font he used. I attempted to incorporate motion and black and white photography.
The final cover is inspired by famous American graphic designer Milton Glaser. I enjoy his used of bold colors and I was very much inspired by his Saratoga Festival poster.
Thank You!
