I have illustrated and designed a series of five postage stamps for Slovenian Post. The theme for these stamps was "Slovenian proverbs and sayings".
For me, the starting point for this project was Slovenian countryside, where i believe these sayings are most present even to this day. From there, I created characters that are commonly associated with farms, countryside life and old native folklore.
The sayings go as follows:
"In an emergency, the devil eats flies"
"When the cat is not at home, mice dance"
"First sweep in front of your own doorstep"
"Haughty as a rooster on a dunghill"
"See that you don't get off the horse and onto the donkey"
