The goal of this project was to create atmospheric perspective in an imagined environment using acrylic paint. To achieve this, I used less contrast and cooler colours in the background, creating a hazy appearance. I also gave the forms in the distance less detail. To contrast this, I added more contrast in the foreground with darker colours and more detail.
This contrast of details and texture in the foreground and a hazy appearance in the background is tied together through the placement of the temples. The repetition of them with each one decreasing in size draws the viewer into the scene, inviting them their eye to travel throughout the piece.
