Members of the advocacy group, Ridgewood Rides, approached me looking for graphic and branding direction for their growing neighborhood organization.
The group was looking for something bright and playful, while maintaining cycling as a pivotal component - the group gravitated towards concept sketches of a flower riding a bicycle and agreed that utilizing a character to represent the advocacy work was a great way to “grow” support.
The image stretched past the initial illustration, and the bold colors and linework lent themselves to products like shirts and stickers, which the group can use to foster a stronger community and spread their mission further into NYC.
