Creative Commons Projects

Since May of 2022, I have been the graphic designer for UNL Creative Commons - a student organization focusing on the practice of artistic freedom and self expression. Our biggest goal is giving the opportunity to recognize students' creativity and creations by offering workshops, a themed zine, and an exhibition gallery. As the designer, I create all the visuals to bring our bright visions to life.
BRANDING
For a part of the branding, I designed stickers to help promote Creative Commons using information where students can find us. I put the date, time, and location of our workshops as well as our Instagram account. Below are the stickers.
INSTAGRAM POSTS
Some Instagram posts I designed, following the branding. With each Instagram post, I focus on bringing bright, fun, and experimental elements to match our branding and the event we are promoting. Details for Instagram posts are discussed with the Social Media Strategist to make sure content is effective.
ZINE
Every year, Creative Commons makes a zine showing members’ artworks relating to a theme. I designed a mini zine to give more information about our zine to members. I made sure to give essential information for the zine, while also making it look fun. There are also photos to show how it looks printed.
This is a zine I designed for this year with the theme "Handle with Care," which was left open for artists to interpret. To complement the artwork of the artists, I adopted a minimalist approach for the zine's design, allowing their work to take center stage. By incorporating gradients using our branding colors, I aimed to achieve a calming tone and a visually captivating design. I also designed pages that gave artists' bios and information.
POSTER DESIGNS
Some posters promoting events we hosted or encouraging people to participate in our zine. These posters were put across campus to reach a wide audience. I made the main designs relating to the promotion but still sticking with branding by using colors from the color palette or including lighting bolts.
