The brief said to make something typographic for a text exhibition. We could work with every technique we wanted and make either a physical piece or something digital.
We wanted to make a installation that showed our contempt for the trend of cutout wooden block typography with words like «Love» and «Home», or plastering big sticker quotes like «Home sweet home» on peoples walls.
The idea was to use acrylic plates to form different layers which we had in graved with text. Both the quote and the text was made by ourself.
We choose 4 plates with different parts of the typography on them, so that when positioned such that they are viewed from the front they formed the entire quote.
