the Sound and the Fury Book Jacket

The Sound and the Fury is a dramatic presentation of the decline of the once-aristocratic Compson family of Yoknapatawpha County, in northern Mississippi. Divided into four sections, the history is narrated by three Compson brothers — Benjamin, Quentin, and Jason — followed by a section by an omniscient narrator.

For this project, the importance of the sibling’s connection with the sister, Caddy, was taken into consideration. Each brother received one color and expression and was assigned to different places on the cover. The idea behind that is to express their personality and their importance throughout the novel. Additionally, having Caddy in three colors was chosen to portray how Caddy is important for each Compson brother and her decisions heavily affect their lives.
