UWinnipeg Social Content

Goal: Social media allows us to connect with the audience in a human way, to build trust and encourage engagement and community building. In early 2021 we set out with a goal to reach 10K followers by September. At the time, this unlocked the 'swipe up' feature, allowing us to directly connect users with event details and important content.

Role: Ideation/creative development, content planning, creative direction, design

Highlights: Averaging 200+ new followers each month, the goal of reaching 10K followers by September 2021 was exceeded. The Teacher's Pet series was featured in University Affairs Magazine and on CBC Radio.
#TeachersPetTuesday
Born out of the goal to develop an engaging series on Instagram that people could follow along with week-after-week. It's no secret that pets are a natural crowdpleaser on the platform, but we needed a way to tie in the University. We did so by giving the community a peek into the lives of our brilliant faculty through their pet's eyes.

Social Content
Special days, contests, tips and helpful advice  –  keeping content flowing that reflected our brand, engaged and provided value to our audience was the goal.
Virtual Picture Day
At the beginning of the Fall term in 2020, classes were fully remote due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Students beginning their university journey or returning back for another semester were usually met with on-campus activities and opportunities to connect and engage with the community at the start of a new year. To create an experience that brought some light-hearted fun to this unprecedented time, we partnered with a local photobooth company. 'Virtual Picture Day' allowed students (and faculty) to engage with our account, tagging us in their posts for reposting and sharing with their followers to reach new audiences.
