HEART DISEASE
Cardiovascular disease is the number 1 killer in the world and is the cause of 18% of deaths in South Africa. 225 people are killed each day due to heart disease. This makes heart disease a very serious problem, especially among South Africans.
It is evident that South Africans are unaware of cardiovascular disease and those that are aware don't take it seriously. This can be proven because 40% of South Africans are inactive, 68% of women in South Africa are obese or overweight, 31% of men in South Africa are obese and overweight, and 2 in 5 South African have high blood pressure.
The purpose of the infographic is to inform people about the seriousness of heart disease and the risk factors in the hopes that they might adapt a healthier lifestyle. The infographic focuses more on statistic than the actual disease itself in the hopes that the statistic will pressure people to take action.
