Momentum

Momentum originated from the Latin word mōmentum, which means movement. This series of images focuses on compressing of time and movement into a single frame of image. Through the experimentation of photography medium, I attempt to explore the boundaries of photography. Images were captured by hand built pinhole camera, placed at specific location of my choice for varying period of time. The light would enter through the pinhole and project the images, which would then be registered on the photographic paper. The longer exposure time granted by this choice of medium allows movement to be reflected in the images created. Photography is largely perceived as “freezing the frame” or “capturing the moment”. Through these images I wish to redefine this perception.
