On a boring evening a couple of years ago I decided to experiment with something i had thought about for a while. I have seen some light paintings and some light balls with torches but i thought i could take it a step further by using sparklers instead of torches (i know this is not a new idea but it was for me at the time). I composed the pictures had a couple of practises with a torch before i went for it in my garden.
After my initial experiments in the garden i decidd to travel out into the open world to find some cool places to give it a go. These are my results, some of them look quite good, and some others not so much, ill let you be the judge of which is which.
I decided to make the most of the floods, and yes there is a swan in the background.
At this point i moved house and changed assistants from my dad to a friend with much more knowledge of photography... and a car.
After doing a few i thought about what else would produce sparks. I saw a gif. about steel wool and thought ide give this a go. It came out quite nicely and scared the hell out of me the first time i did this.
By no means is this project finished but i wanted to see what they looked like so far so i put them of here.
