I was able to create a layout design for this informative book project called "For the Kids Guatemala" based off research concerning the low education rate in this country. I listed links to non profit organizations that are helping many children from smaller towns in Guatemala receive the education they deserve. They provide new and improved school buildings, school supplies, clothes, better education and nutritional meals.

The color palette I included in the overall design were strong earth tones. At the same time I wanted bright bold colors that caught the viewer's attention through the written information and that matched the photographs I incorporated throughout the book.

For the main logo of thus book I used the colors blue and yellow including a mini illustration of Guatemalas map on the left side. A playful font is used for "For the Kids", a more modern font is used for "Guatemala" on the bottom. I applied kerning to this word by adding space between each letter to be able to frame the tittle and illustration above it. I also included the Spanish version for this logo, since Guatemala's main language is Spanish.
