The project of the virtual residence "digital:air" was set by the non-governmental art institution Center for Creative Industries Fabrika (Factory) together with the APXIV group, to whom the curatorial concept of the project belongs. "digital:air" residence is a reaction to the global digitalization in the field of culture and art, as well as an attempt to develop new art forms of contemporary art which is not restricted by the pandemic measures. In the process of creating the virtual residence, curators have digitized three exhibition halls of the CCI Fabrika and formed a new ecosystem at the junction of digital and material art, in which artists from different countries can work simultaneously. The whole project became possible due to technical support by 8XR developers and their brand new metaverse graphic web engine. The first season of residencies consisted of three separate projects held in late 2021/early 2022 with artists and curators from Germany, Russia and Denmark.
The logo was initially created as an animation, constantly moving, just like the air and digital content around us. The movement is created in Cavalry software, which has very cool advanced tools for generative animation. The basic version with letters on a white background can alternatively be switched to a dark mode version and a version with rectangle for use on complex backgrounds with optional typographic blocks. There are two basic animations: free-floating for standalone logo composition and with the bottom left corner pinned for use with a caption. Each frame can be applied for static, but there is a selection of the "best shots" for ease of use. A simplified version of the userpic for social media is also provided.

The result (or better to say the process) is not a precise visual identity, with a single acceptable logo, but a field of possibilities, referring to the ideas of pluralism, horizontality and free choice on which the digital residency is based.

Instagram stories template in action. A set of elements from which you can assemble stories simply on your smartphone without additional apps: stepped cachés, gifs of logo versions, original graphics.
Original cloudy looking volumetric graphics for filling the background.
Made up of initial letters, geometric bodies and typographic symbols.

For event posters, as for all other elements of visual identity, it was important to make customizable templates that can easily be modified and updated with new content to announce future art events. So five basic layouts can grow into a hypothetically endless series.
