Звёздный городо́к (Star City) is a game of exploration, where you play as a commander of Russian space center Star City. One of your astronauts, Vladimir, failed his space mission and crashed his ship.
Your task is to help Vladimir collect various objects lost during the accident and bring him home before oxygen runs out. Moreover, as the astronaut seeks objects between sun and moon, you have to keep
his temperature on balance as staying close to the them for too long will either burn him or make him freeze.
The object design for UI takes inspirations from (cold war) Russian imitations of Nintendo consoles. As our initial
objective was to make a game following the design from year 2006, we decided to imitate apple’s iMac
but use artisanal materials and Cyrillic carvings. Therefore, the controller is from hand-carved wood
with graved plexiglass on top.

Under the hood there’s an arduino controller and 15 passive RFID emitters each coded as astronaut’s lost objects, together with some LED’s to create the effect of a star map.
Player searches for objects by swiping the console with an RFID antenna and transmitter integrated in the attached glove (joystick).  Moreover, there are two mini Peltier emitters that heat up or cool-down as the astronaut stays near the sun or the moon for two long. Therefore player can feel heat or cold
with his palm accordingly.
