Behold Blackberry OS, reimagined in 2022
This isn't Android; this is Blackberry OS 12X
This UI/UX project was a nice experiment see how I could redesign Blackberry's OS 10 to match the design language of smartphone operating systems these days.
Much of the inspiration of OS 12X came from the original Blackberry OS 10:
• On the lockscreen, app notification badges have moved to the right for a more ergonomic reach
• When an app notification badge has been tapped, a list of notifications from the tapped app will display on the lockscreen in glassmorphic notification tiles
• The basic home screen layout and bottom navigation bar design language has been kept more or less the same, but with several tweaks
• Much like Android and iOS, swiping down from the top shows the quick settings panel. The design here has been revamped significantly to accommodate ringer volume, alarm volume and screen brightness sliders
The photos below show how OS 12X would look like on a Blackberry Priv. The aspect ratio does not perfectly fit but it still gives an idea how a Blackberry keyboard slider smartphone running OS 12X would look like today.
I obviously do not own the rights to the Blackberry name.
