Painting from memory

Oil paint on paper, 100x70

These works relate to actual spaces that I used to know very well, but hadn’t seen in a long time. Not on photo or in real life.

I used painting as a medium to rediscover these sites, to revisualise them, to rebuild them and make them concrete, in a new form, on paper.

It was a way for me to relate to these specific sites from distant memories. I found the process helped me recover details long forgotten.

The paintings reflect the way I feel about those places, too. But this is more in hindsight.
