Resistance & solidarity of minority women Zine

The final zine is a result of the co-creation workshop with 11 participants, which visually expresses their experiences of solidarity and resistance as minority women in Denmark. This zine was displayed at the contemporary art exhibition Documenta fifteen in Kassel, Germany held between June and September 2022, along with other works of the in-house artists from Trampoline House.

It was my final Master's project at the Designskolen Kolding, done in collaboration with the Women's Club at Trampoline House in Copenhagen. I wanted to explore how to promote solidarity and strengthen the sense of agency among refugee and minority women in Denmark through participatory design and creative expression with the use of art-based methods.

PROCESS
Throughout my project I facilitated three creative workshops at the Women's Club at Trampoline House, using art-based methods. Below are the pictures of the process. We were making collages and demonstration posters together using old magazines, newspapers and various art supply materials.
SOLUTION
The final solution is a zine that was a result of the last co-creation workshop with the Women’s Club at Trampoline House. Zines are easily accessible and experimental outlets for creative expression, historically linked to activism and resistance movements. It presents a collection of works created by 11 participants, which visually express their experiences of solidarity and resistance as refugee and minority women in Denmark. The zine also features some process pictures from the workshop and quotes from the participants.
