Again Adidas as well as Nike are featured in News. However, this time Adidas is escalated this fight to a whole new level. In a lawsuit filed in Texas District Court on Friday 10th June 2022 Adidas is suing Nike however this time, it's an federal lawsuit.

 It's not the first time that Adidas and Nike fight. The battle dates back to 2005, when Nike filed a lawsuit against Adidas claiming that Adidas shoes infringed on two patents that were related to shoe design. The case was dismissed in 2007 after the two parties Adidas and Nike reached an agreement on mutual terms.

 In the beginning of 2015, Adidas and Nike were at war about the Nike SNKRS app as well as Adidas Confirmed. Adidas Confirmed was launched in 2015 as a tool that made buying exclusive items easier and more fair for all.
 A few days later, Nike released its SNKRS application, which was launched with a password-protected version prior to the launch of the app globally on May 15, 2015. The apps are also mentioned as part of the lawsuit.

 Reason Why Adidas Suing Nike

 Adidas claims that Nike  intentionally and knowingly violated nine patents relating with Adidas proprietary athletic technology. The Nike's Run Club app, Nike Training Club app as well as the Nike SNKRS app are all offenders' elements, such as audio feedback during exercise as well as GPS tracking and training plans.

 Adidas lawsuit follows Nike's complaint filed in December to the firm in Oregon Federal Court and the US International Trade Commission where Nike claimed Adidas sneakers of violating patents in connection with Nike's Flyknit Sneaker design.

 "Adidas has been a long-time pioneer in mobile technology, including the technology that relates to mobile fitness and mobile purchase," Adidas claims in the lawsuit. "Adidas is the very first company in the business to bring comprehensive analytics data for athletes."

 Adidas has filed a court complaint for an unspecified amount of damages as well as an order to stop Nike from violating. The rift among Adidas and Nike has been known for a long time, but it is for the first time that Adidas is filing a lawsuit before a Federal Court.
