Cameron Keyes's profile

Ministry of Youth Development Project

Brief:
I have decided to create an informational campaign, aimed at parents/caregivers who have children affected by mental health issues. I see an information deficit for an older demographic who may not be directly affected by mental health, but nonetheless have people they love affected by it. There may be an issue of parents/caregivers not having access to the same information as young people, therefore they may receive inaccurate info from other sources which may damage other people’s recovery (most likely their children who may be suffering but be unable to receive the care they need without their caregivers’ support).

I would like to address this with my campaign, and will focus specifically on medication as this has become a point of contention between many parties about the use of medical aid when treating mental health issues.  The campaign will be headed by The Ministry of Youth Development (Te Manatū Whakahiato Taiohi) and The New Zealand Mental Health Foundation (Ko Te Tari Hauora Hinengaro o Aotearoa). I aiming for an age range of 40 - 50 years old, as this is around the age of parents with teenage children, who could possibly be diagnosed with a Mental Health disorder.
