For my octopus I gave it a deep sea kind of background. The octopus is coming out of the shadows to present himself as if he were going to catch a meal or to be intimidating to the other animals swimming around the deep sea floor. There are some fish swimming between coral and a star fish sticking to a rock. You also can’t forget about the great whites coasting through the ocean far away from the fish as the fish staying as far away as possible.

Cretaceous Dawn © 1996 George Arthur Bush was the artist I found with a similar message. We had a similar message in a way I think we both wanted to show strength. I am sure he had a trial and error process and also did tutorials to get where his artwork was where he wanted it at. I did a fog/smoke tutorial and I am using the fog as smoke in the air from my volcano. Some other way that I gathered inspiration was when I was creating my sketches I don’t have ideas going into it. I start drawing and ideas just come to me, to me it’s just all part of the creative process. His artwork is a painting and he had to off start somewhere similar the way that I did even thought my artwork is on a computer on Adobe Illustrator and he was painting. Some ways that ours is different is that he had dinosaurs fighting where to mine I didn’t have violence. He also had a volcano but it was erupting and mine is not erupting but had lava dripping down the sides. His artwork is much more vivid and darker than mine.
