Description
This project was realized as a poster for a duo-exhibition "Tra il dire e il fare c'è di mezzo il mare". Myself and Ester (@esterezmar) tackled the same overarching theme as we were both learning Italian during our stay in Venice. Italian, and specifically Venetian proverbs and sayings. Our love for the canals, mist, and all things that live in there made us rip up some tarlatan fabric that created these ghost-like creatures. Several layers of monotype in one giant print made them float like ethereal beings. The layers of Akua ink allow a certain transparency which draws you in to float along with them.

Another completely unique print lives with Ester at the moment, maybe we'll conjoin them soon in our next adventure and let the "Creaturi" have a life of their own...
Materials
Tarlatan fabric, Akua inks, monotype, Fabriano Tiepolo paper 70cm x 100cm.
