History of Tetris Animation
The final project for my motion graphics class was to make a minute long, informative animation using research, statistics and citations. About half a week prior to this assignment, a Russian friend and I were discussing video games, namely Tetris and how it went beyond the Iron Curtain and became one of the most popular games of all time.

We watched a couple videos which I used as reference and read some webpages, articles and journals for statistics/additional facts.

After putting all these facts into a text document and creating a timeline based off them, I began figuring out which were the most interesting and how I wanted to build a narrative.

After narrowing down my facts and keeping my transition from topic to topic fairly seamless, I went and illustrated a quick storyboard:
It was pretty straight forward, I wanted to discuss how the game came into being, its inspiration, who worked on it and how it became as popular as it is today.

The following 3 weeks were spent animating and trimming/adding bits of info here and there. My animation was going to be mainly type based, using a lot of fonts, visuals and more to draw in attention. For audio I used a string assembly of the Tetris theme and timed my transitions to match the music.

Here's the final product:
