Aloha Chase Innovative Packaging

My packaging team and I spent a 10 week period working on an innovative packaging idea. Our innovative idea is to create a perforated pouch that has a shot of alcohol on one side, and a flavored chaser on the other. Using the printing machines on campus, we worked on creating a prototype of a box to store all of the pouches in. We were limited on materials, and did not have access to the pouch substrate, so we decided to make a box that could transform into a display for the pouches, in theory.
Each week, we improved the design little by little, as well as the physical dimensions and perforations of the box.
After 10 weeks, we finalized our display and storage box design, and also our theoretical pouch design.
During production, the flexible pouch dieline would be cut, creased, and perforated, and then sealed securely around all sides, excluding the very top flap that will eventually be used for drinking. At this point in production, the overall pouch is essentially two skinny chambers that are separate from each other, but attached down the middle by a perforation. The assembled pouch is now ready to be filled, and is run through a machinery line.

The display box is a simple dieline using thin paperboard as the substrate, with flaps to secure the box together on the sides and the top. The box can be folded up, secured with glue, and the pouches can be inserted standing up, ready for display.
