Experimentation with Natural Dyes - Wrapped Puff

For this project I wanted to create a sit-on puff with an organic and irregular shape that responds to my interest of making a functional, three-dimensional object that would take the dyed fabrics out of their bi dimensional nature and out of the scale I normally work on.
The materials that have contact with the exterior and with the user are the muslin and the cheesecloth.  These fabrics were dyed using two contrasting colors, purple and yellow. The fabrics were dyed with Logwood Purple and Osage.
The object was created layering harder fibers with softer ones. The center of the puff if foam covered with stuffing, then covered with muslin and finally the most delicate skin is the cheesecloth that holds the other layers.
The organic puff has a hard core that evolves into softer skin, rendering the object delicate and fragile. To address functionality, the object has a flat top to suggest an area to sit on.
