7 creative strategies
The purpose of the project was to choose a simple object that people use almost every day and combine it with other images to create unusual compositions. The main idea was to give a new meaning to the selected object. I chose a charging cable for this creative journey.
Brainstorming
Brainstorming is a great technique to get started with any creative project. It helps to combine all the possible xideas and even those that were not related initially. So to understand what are some of the possible compositions I can create, I started with this technique.
Combination
It is the way of combining two unrelated objects to create a new thing that will have a different meaning.
Isolation
It is a kind of emphasizing specific object among others or highlighting the stuff from the environment where it is placed.
Metaphor or Simile
It happens when a usual object gets a completely different meaning, whether it is connected to other projects or is based on the new environment.
Change of Context/Environment
The idea of this concept is to place the element in an unusual environment for the subject to give it a new purpose.
Physical/Shape Similarity
This strategy shows the connection between the objects by their physical shape, so they may have some connection in their purposes because of this similarity.
Material Change/Swap/Focus
With this concept of usual material, properties get new features or their meaning is changed.
