TYPEFACE POSTER
The aim of this project is to study the history of various typefaces belonging to different font families and execute them in a form of an aesthetically appealing typeface poster.
The posters contain important information about the respective typeface like the date of origin, creator etc. Followed by their mockups.
Size: A-4
Color Scheme: Achromatic Colors( RGB colors)
Font families: Serif, San-Serif, Decorative font.
SERIF FONTS
Typefaces that have serifs are referred to as serif typefaces. A serif is a decorative stroke that extends off the end of a letterform.
Executed Typeface: Times New Roman, Georgia.
Times New Roman: is a serif typeface. It was commissioned by the British newspaper The Times in 1931 and conceived by Stanley Morison.
Georgia: is a serif typeface designed in 1993 by Matthew Carter and hinted by Tom Rickner for the Microsoft Corporation.
SAN-SERIF FONTS
San-Serif letterform is one that does not have extending features called "serifs" at the end of strokes.
Executed Typeface: Futura
Futura: is a geometric sans-serif typeface designed by Paul Renner and released in 1927. It was designed as a contribution on the New Frankfurt-project.
DECORATIVE FONTS
Fonts with extreme features such as swashes or exaggerated serifs could be described as decorative type.
Executed Typeface: Lobster
Lobster: The font was created in 2010 by an Algerian designer, Pablo Impallari and introduced to the Google font library. It started popping up on websites, on packaging, in logos and ads widely.
