The prompt that was given for this project was to design a poster advertising an upcoming event, as well as social media posts that aid in promoting the event. The event I chose to create a poster for was a disco dance, and so during my design process I chose to use bright colors that would stand out as well as ones that would correlate well with the theme of disco. The stripes in the poster further enhance the visual appeal of the piece, and I pushed the concept of repetition by using the stripes in one of the three social media posts. The disco is an appealing visual element that was created using a grid and the shape tool. It serves as the focal point for the poster and it gives the message of a disco dance without the audience needing to read the below information.
