Coconuts.co is an alternative online publisher reaching an audience of millions with fresh and juicy stories and videos. The Coconuts.co news and lifestyle website produces in-depth coverage of what’s happening in Bangkok, Manila, Singapore, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Bali, Yangon, and beyond.
With the rise of social media content and "Stories" — gif has become more of an acceptable reaction towards anything where words can't express. Now how do we utilise the GIF game for Coconuts, who regularly post stories and content everyday cross platform?
With input from Coconuts' local editorial teams around the region, Coconuts worked with me (as Sr. Art Director and also as a Creator) to make creative, quirky and fun GIPHY stickers for use in Coconuts social media. With Giphy API, the Coconuts stickers can be used on any social media platform, therefore it also help spread brand awareness.
Thus, the Coconuts.co Giphy channel was born.
PS: This won WAN-IFRA Digital Media Award Asia 2021 on "Best Marketing Campaign for News Brand" category.
