Visual Metaphor Poster

Final poster design for the opera "Orfeo ed Euridice"
Some mockups of the poster if it were to be printed and pasted on walls. The mock-ups were intentionally chosen for the quick-hanging-job look which includes the wrinkles on the poster.
The sketching process for the visual metaphors. The two operas I chose at the time were "Love and War"(Left) and "Orfeo ed Euridice"(Right).
The first refined sketches for the two poster ideas decided on for the two Operas. The Orfeo ed Euridice poster being a collage of stock images in photoshop and the War & Peace poster being quickly mocked up as a vector in Illustrator
(Left to right) process of colorizing the grayscaled stock images using layer styles in Clip Studio Paint then adding a rough logo and placement in photoshop.
The placement of the logo was a tough thing to decide on; many possible placements were put together as well as workshopped with full class feedback. In the end we decided to scrap the serif logo and the gold style
Further refining of the collage itself including overpainting the stock images as a solution to some resolution issues with the original images. One last try with the serif style and then the new prison bar inspired type and effect.
