CONCEPT.
The concept behind the art work is to depict how marine life is affected by the nuisance created by human beings. It shows the pain and suffering of turtle and other spices of marine life.
Since we are using plastic and harmful chemicals numerously, not only the marine life but the environment is affected.
In India we celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi (specially in Maharashtra). When I was a child, my teacher taught me that nature is god i.e. we prey nature in the form of Ganesha by creating its idol . She explained me that , we collect soil from nature make Ganesha idols out if it and prey, after that we put the soil in water i.e. lake, sea, etc. (Visarjan). She taught me that it is all a give and take process; what we take from nature, we give it back to nature.
But now it is all changed, humans have started using more and more chemical stuffs and the Ganesha idol are also created by using POP and harmful chemicals.
Hence my art work is an attempt to show the helplessness of marine life using the conversation between the turtle and Ganesha as a metaphor.
