The surrealist painters of the twenties mainly inspired this eveningwear collection. The paintings of Rene Magritte and Salvador Dali caught my eye and intrigued me to look further into surrealism. I interpreted surrealism to be about altering reality into almost a dream like state. This was then translated into the clothing by playing with proportions and relativity of certain objects. The colors are expressing a whimsical, playful feeling. I wanted this collection to be slightly reminiscent of a youth, and lighthearted soul. My muse is a girl, who never takes herself too seriously, is always laughing and joking and yet, she still carries herself with poise and confidence. She is a risk taker, and goes out into the world with strong ideas. This collection would be seen on a runway, as some pieces of the collection are not meant to be functional for everyday use.
