Haute Couture Dress Design 

For this project, I created an Haute Couture inspired custom fitted high end dress design. I have a passion for drawing and creating fashion illustrations so I thought it would be cool to create my own personal haute couture dress design for this project. 

Here is a mood board I made of different colors and designs that inspired the drawing that I created. Haute Couture contains over the top fashion, dresses, jewelry, and colors. I wanted my dress design to be extravagant with glitz and jewels. I incorporated big dresses as well as blazer suits with layered details in my mood board which is some of the things that inspired me to draw a dress that had some kind of a layer at the bottom with a lot of detailing. You also see a lot of sparkle in this mood board which is why my drawing has little sparkle details in the dress. 

I was a part of a group where we all put our haute couture designs on a line sheet. We incorporated the most popular color choice for our design as well as the price point for our dress, the season, and the style number. 

When I draw fashion illustrations, I do not add color because I want the audience to be able to visualize different color schemes for the piece. For this particular project, I had to make a color palette of choices that the client could choice for the dress. These colors were chosen based off of my mood board design. 

This project is one of my favorite fashion illustrations, it has made me get into creating prom and wedding dresses in my drawings. Although I don't typically add color to my drawings, this project inspired me to create something with a lot of different colors for dress designs. All in all, I had a lot of fun reading about Haute couture designs all while coming up with my own personal interpretation.
