Folktales are deeply connected to nature: each landscape generates different stories and myths based on its surroundings.
Friuli Venezia-Giulia is a region of Italy located on the very north-east of the country: although its size being quite small compared to other regions, the presence of folktales and imaginary beings is just as high as its natural and morphological diversity, which makes this area profoundly unique. These mythological creatures live in various aspects of daily life of the region: in idiomatic expressions, painted on the walls of small villages, or they even happen to be part of big catastrophic events such as the big 1976 earthquake.
This editorial project is not just a collection of folktales: it's an uncommon itinerary through Friuli Venezia-Giulia and its beauty, following step-by-step the spots where these creatures happen to appear on the darkest nights.
