A short animated film of four-year-old Max and his teenage sister Ema who helps pass their time in in a large shopping center by telling a Slovenian folk tale about Povodni mož - the Water man.
Ema’s picturesque narration pulls curious Max into a whirlpool of imagination. He identifies with the tale and travels to imaginary worlds. But as the narrative and their play become more intense, Ema notices that Max is lost …
Both, the story of the siblings and the folk tale, reminds us of the real and greatest treasures; of home and our loved ones. Because real wealth is not hidden in the abundance of gifts and unnecessary accumulation of material goods, but in genuine interpersonal relationships. Which become apparent when you lose them, even if only for a short time.
