Stretcher for Dogs : Design for Special Needs

As part of the course Design for Special Needs, I decided to design a stretcher for dogs.
Process documentation : Documentation on Issuu

This stretcher is designed for an Indian scenario where veterinary care is not so advanced. It aims at assisting dog owners, caretakers and vets to transport heavier dogs between 30 - 50 kgs that need medical assistance. The features make it possible for a single user to be able to transport the animal with ease over rough terrain or staircases.
It can be used in domestic settings if an emergency arises or even in veterinary clinics and hospitals where moving the dog from one place to another may be necessary.
The stretcher can be folded and stored easily at home or in medical facilities. It is light and has a canvas stretched over the frame, that can be easily removed and cleaned.

The scenario of use, and how the stretcher could be used.
The highlighted features.
How the stair wheels help in tackling stairs.
The stretcher is foldable and becomes compact for storage.

I decided to design a small pamphlet to explain my design at a glance as well as to highlight the use and features of the stretcher.
The pamphlet could also later double as an advertisement or propaganda piece for promotion of the stretcher amongst dog caretakers, vets or even the general public.
It talks about why the stretcher is needed, and in what scenario it can be used. The main features of the stretcher are highlighted. It also gives a quick introduction on how to use the stair wheels and the folding process.
