Wall art for Bentley Quebec (2018)

In 2018, I was asked by a colleague if I had some free time for embellishing our second floor open-space office. There is this big, empty sad wall, that needed a pick-me-up. I had never done wall art before, but as I am always up for a challenge...I obliged.

I had to come up with a design that represented our brand well, and after a lot of brain picking, settled on making simplified versions of popular buildings that were created with Bentley applications, as well as other infrastructure that commonly use our technology. Hotels, offshore platforms, high-speed trains and even pipework!
This was mean for the Quebec office, and I wanted to add a small 'local twist' to the wall art.
I included the Quebec building in the design!

But the work was not over. Once everything was green lit, I had to make sure the design worked out on the wall, and had to take note of electrical outlets, thermostats, and other wall fixtures that may conflict with the decal. So I grabbed a friend, my phone's camera, and some measuring tape.
Specifications of the full wall, added around the art to gauge the potential issues and overall location.

As you can see in the right end, the thermostat was in the way, so I had to fine tune the design a bit to make sure it would not cause issues when the real deal would be installed.

In the end, all that work paid off, and the whole office was delighted by the final result! It was such a fun project, and I was very happy to see my art blown so big on a wall.
