Thirsty Jags (2022)

Thirsty Jags
This is a group project where we wanted to promote healthy drinking habits in students at IUPUI while also getting them engaged with different parts of campus
After multiple sets of observations and interviews with students, we came up with a plan for prototyping - creating a scavenger hunt around campus. Our plan was to design a water bottle that could be handed out at orientation, weeks of welcome, and other events that would include a map of campus that would highlight specific building that would participate in the scavenger hunt. Once they found the buildings they would scan their student ID, fill their water bottle, and get a sticker exclusive to that location.
We found that many students don't feel as if they engage with other parts of campus seeing as it's so spread out, so in our prototyping session they were very intrigued by the idea. Many said that if this was implemented they would feel encouraged to explore campus more, especially if sticker designs were rotated.
Our bottle (group members design)
Our map (my design)
Our dispenser (group member design)
Our stickers (collaboration)
Our version of this design was thoroughly enjoyed by our peers, so in the future we plan to bring this to the attention of the Office of Student Health and Wellness at IUPUI to see if this plan may eventually be implemented.
